SAN ANTONIO – The Minnesota Timberwolves have demonstrated their playoff resilience with an impressive performance that highlights the effectiveness of their “next man up” mentality. This approach not only showcases their depth but also their ability to adapt and thrive under pressure.

As the Spurs gear up for their next challenge, they recognize the heightened level of competition they will face. Spurs center and Defensive Player of the Year, Victor Wembanyama, emphasized the need for resilience against teams like the Timberwolves. “Portland is a pretty straightforward team. They’re on one end of the spectrum of NBA teams, so it requires a lot of resilience to keep pushing through,” he noted.

Wembanyama expressed eagerness about the upcoming match against the Timberwolves, indicating a focused mindset as they prepare for a tougher series. “We’re locked in. We know it’s going to be even harder than the first series,” he stated, highlighting the intensity of the playoff atmosphere.

Spurs head coach Mitch Johnson, a finalist for the 2026 Coach of the Year award, shared his confidence in the team’s preparation. “The guys have been great in terms of their preparation and what we’ve asked of them,” Johnson remarked. He anticipates that the upcoming series will test their skills more than any previous challenges this season.

Utilizing their home-court advantage, the Spurs aim to set a strong tone for the series. Game 1 of the second round is scheduled for Monday, May 4, with the exact time yet to be determined. As the playoff season progresses, fans and analysts alike are eager to see how both teams will adapt and respond to the escalating stakes.
