BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – A San Antonio Park Police officer was arrested on Wednesday after being involved in an incident of domestic violence, according to reports from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

The officer, identified as 36-year-old Rolando Lopez Jr., is facing serious charges for assault causing bodily injury to a family member. This situation has raised concerns about the conduct of law enforcement officials, as they are expected to uphold the law and protect the community.

On Tuesday evening, around 6 p.m., deputies responded to a call about domestic violence in the vicinity of the 47000 block of Sahara Valleys. The victim reported that Lopez had assaulted her during a disagreement at a traffic light. Notably, she suffered visible injuries to her face and lip, highlighting the severity of the incident.

In light of these allegations, Lopez has been placed on administrative duty while the San Antonio Park Police conduct an investigation into the incident. Lopez has served with the San Antonio Park Police for eight years, a fact that adds complexity to the situation as the community grapples with issues of trust and accountability in law enforcement.

Domestic violence is a serious issue that affects many individuals and families. Resources and support systems are available for those who may find themselves in similar situations. It’s crucial to remember that help is accessible, and no one should feel alone in facing such challenges.

As the investigation unfolds, it will be important for the community to stay informed and engaged with how law enforcement handles these serious allegations. Ensuring that justice is served while maintaining public trust in authorities is vital for community safety.
