BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – On July 15, 2026, a severe weather outbreak in Bexar County led to the confirmation of two additional weak EF-0 tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). This brings the total number of confirmed tornadoes from that day to three, highlighting the area’s unusual weather activity.
Among these tornadoes, one was an EF-1 that caused significant damage, particularly to an apartment complex and businesses at The Rim. Let’s take a closer look at these weather events and their impacts.

The Tornadoes of July 15, 2026
The first of the newly confirmed tornadoes touched down at 5:20 a.m. in northeast downtown San Antonio, specifically in the Dignowity Hill District. Rated EF-0, the tornado produced estimated winds of 65 mph and traveled approximately 0.29 miles. It reached a maximum width of 30 yards before dissipating just a minute later.

Damage from this tornado was minimal, with a tin roof partially peeled off a business and a brick façade experiencing a partial collapse.
Burshard Road Tornado
The second tornado was confirmed at 4:25 p.m. north of Burshard Road and west of Gardner Road in east Bexar County. Also rated EF-0, this tornado had peak winds of 65 mph but was even shorter-lived, traveling only 0.12 miles before dissipating after one minute.

This tornado mostly impacted open land, with the only reported damage being to a fence.
Uvalde County Tornado
Another tornado occurred in Uvalde County at 2:58 a.m., with estimated peak winds of 95 mph. This tornado lasted longer than the others, remaining on the ground for at least 0.05 miles and reaching a maximum width of 50 yards.
Survey teams reported that this tornado snapped a wooden power pole, left another leaning, and caused tree damage throughout the Uvalde Estates subdivision.
While these tornadoes were relatively weak, they serve as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of severe weather. Keeping informed and prepared is essential for residents in tornado-prone areas.
