FORECAST

TODAY

An unusually strong upper-level high pressure system is influencing our weather, keeping warm winds blowing from the south to southeast. Today, expect a warm and dry day with afternoon highs reaching the upper 80s, making it a perfect day for outdoor activities.

Warming up into the 80s and 90s today

THIS WEEKEND

This ridge of high pressure will continue to push warm air into our region, leading to temperatures well above average throughout the weekend. Expect lower 90s on both Saturday and Sunday, bringing near-record heat for mid-March.

The warming trend continues, and this weekend will be hot for mid-March

While the abundant sunshine is great for outdoor plans, it’s important to remember that the dry air and low humidity can create elevated fire weather conditions. Afternoon humidity levels will drop quickly, especially west of I-35, which raises the risk for grass fires. So, stay safe and be cautious if you’re outdoors!

EXTENDED OUTLOOK

Looking ahead, a weak cold front is expected to slide into North Texas early next week. However, it will likely stall before reaching South Texas. This means that temperatures will continue to be well above normal, with fire danger remaining elevated and no rain in sight.
