FLOODING CONCERNS REMAIN ALONG RIVERS

In South Central Texas, conditions are improving after a period of historic rainfall, but major to moderate river flooding is still a concern. Rivers in the Nueces, Frio, San Antonio, Llano, and Rio Grande basins remain elevated, and floodwaters are expected to continue moving downstream throughout the weekend. Residents living near rivers, creeks, and areas prone to flooding should remain alert and avoid any flooded roads.

Areas that could continue to experience high water include:

AQUIFER AND LAKE LEVELS

Water levels are rising across the region. The Edwards Aquifer is actively recharging, and both Medina Lake and Canyon Lake are expected to see additional inflow from swollen rivers and tributaries in the coming days.

THIS WEEKEND

The heavy rain pattern is shifting to the northwest, leading to a quieter weather forecast. Expect a mix of sun and clouds on Saturday with mostly sunny skies on Sunday. High temperatures will reach the mid-90s, and the elevated humidity will make it feel even warmer.

EXTENDED FORECAST

Next week, expect a hotter and drier weather pattern as high pressure builds in the region. While no significant rain is predicted, the lingering humidity will keep heat index values elevated. Get ready for a return to typical July heat.
