SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State University’s football program showcased its talent Monday at Pro Day, with several Bobcats putting on impressive performances in front of NFL scouts as they gear up for next month’s NFL Draft.
One local standout, Treylin Payne, a linebacker from Judson High School in the San Antonio area, captivated attendees with his athleticism and explosiveness. Standing at 6 feet and weighing 215 pounds, Payne transferred to Texas State and quickly established himself as a defensive anchor for the team.
During the position drills, Payne demonstrated impressive tackling ability and range, showcasing the skills that could make him a valuable asset at the next level.
Another notable performer was star running back Lincoln Pare, who rushed for over 1,000 yards in his final season with the Bobcats. Pare’s standout performance included a personal-best of 23 repetitions on the bench press, demonstrating his strength and conditioning.
In addition to his impressive physical metrics, Pare looked fluid during position work, highlighting the vision and burst that made him a cornerstone of Texas State’s ground attack. His performance at Pro Day has further boosted his stock as a tough and productive back with significant NFL potential.
Throwing passes to Pare was Brad Jackson, a redshirt freshman quarterback from Reagan High School who has taken on the role of Texas State’s QB1. Jackson’s performance during Pro Day has drawn attention, and Pare expressed high praise for his abilities, noting that he hopes Jackson will soon have the opportunity to showcase his skills at his own NFL Pro Day.
The Texas State Pro Day event not only highlights the talents of these individual athletes but also reflects the growing reputation of the football program as a breeding ground for future NFL stars.
