The NBA recently announced its 2026 Emirates NBA Cup groupings, along with a new batch of nationally televised games for the San Antonio Spurs. This year’s updates come on the heels of previously disclosed matchups, including a highly anticipated NBA Finals rematch set for Christmas Day.
The Spurs will be in Group C of the fourth annual NBA Cup this fall, sharing the stage with powerhouses such as the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, Portland Trail Blazers, and Sacramento Kings. Each team in Group C is scheduled to play four games, with matchups taking place on various dates throughout the fall season.
2026 NBA Cup Highlights
The NBA Cup’s Group Play will unfold over several dates: October 30, November 6, November 13, November 20, November 24, November 25, and November 27. Notably, the Spurs’ matchups include an exciting game against the Trail Blazers that will air on ESPN as part of a Thanksgiving Eve triple-header. The Spurs will also face the Lakers in a Black Friday doubleheader on Amazon Prime Video.
Following the group stage, the NBA Cup will progress to the quarterfinals on December 4-5, with semifinals scheduled for December 8 and/or 9. The championship game is set for December 11 at the historic Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, making it a key highlight for basketball fans. All playoff games will be broadcast exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
International Games and National Exposure
In addition to the NBA Cup, the Spurs are slated to play two international games against the New Orleans Pelicans. One game will take place in Paris on January 14, 2027, while the second game will be held in Manchester, England, on January 17, 2027. Both games will be aired live on Amazon Prime Video, with the Paris game tipping off at 1 p.m. Central and the Manchester game at approximately 9:30 a.m. San Antonio time.
Furthermore, on February 15, 2027, NBC Sports will air four games during its Presidents Day quadruple-header, including a matchup between the Spurs and the Miami Heat, which is expected to attract significant viewership.
Increased National Television Coverage
This season marks a notable increase in national television exposure for the Spurs. Last August, the NBA designated 22 of San Antonio’s regular season games for national coverage across various platforms, including ABC, ESPN, NBC, Peacock, and Amazon Prime Video.
As of now, eight of the Spurs’ 82 regular season games are confirmed for national television, reflecting the growing interest in the team. The complete 2026-27 regular season schedule will be revealed on Thursday, promising an exciting season ahead for Spurs fans.
