SAN ANTONIO – In a heartwarming display of community support, NBA champion Jordan Clarkson returned to his roots in San Antonio to host the second annual JC Cares Charity Golf Invitational. This event not only celebrated Clarkson’s recent triumph but also engaged friends, fans, local businesses, and notable names from the basketball world.
A proud graduate of Wagner High School, Clarkson is a guard for the New York Knicks and recently led his team to its first NBA championship. This victory was particularly poignant as it included a win against the San Antonio Spurs, the team he grew up idolizing, enriching his homecoming experience.
The charity golf tournament featured basketball legends such as three-time NBA champion and former Spurs player Bruce Bowen, who shared the fairway with Clarkson. Other notable participants included former Spurs player Rudy Gay, as well as rising stars Jeremy Sochan and Jared Vanderbilt. Their presence underscored the event’s blend of fun and philanthropy.
Proceeds from this tournament benefited the JC Cares Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing scholarships, youth programs, and assistance to families in need. This commitment to social responsibility reflects Clarkson’s desire to make a meaningful impact in his hometown.
While Clarkson acknowledged the joy of his recent championship victory, he emphasized the importance of focusing on the future and continuing to expand the reach of his foundation. “It was amazing, but we put that behind us,” he stated. “A lot of us already have; the celebration is done. Back to work and the goal is to do it again.”

Clarkson reflected on the importance of this work, stating, “It’s big for us. It’s humbling. The experience of having this and seeing how much it’s grown over the years and how much we can impact people, the youth, the city, and even the country of the Philippines is just amazing.”
