MIAMI – Influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested by federal authorities Saturday in Miami, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Brady McCarron, a spokesperson for the Marshals Service, told The Associated Press that the warrant for their arrest was sealed, meaning the details are not currently public.

British prosecutors announced later on Saturday that they are seeking to extradite the Tate brothers on serious charges of rape and sex trafficking. These alleged offenses reportedly took place between July 2010 and August 2017, according to a statement from the Crown Prosecution Service.

The Tate brothers gained fame as social media influencers, particularly known for their controversial views on masculinity. They have millions of followers, many of whom are young men and boys. The brothers are dual citizens of the U.S. and the U.K., having moved to Romania in 2016.

In 2022, they were arrested in Romania on similar charges, accused of luring women into exploitative situations. They denied these allegations, and the case did not proceed due to various legal issues.

The current charges in the U.K. allege that the brothers abused women in their hometown, located north of London, between 2012 and 2015. Their legal team has stated that they continue to deny all allegations against them.

The case has attracted significant media attention due to the Tates’ controversial lifestyle and the serious nature of the allegations. As developments unfold, it remains crucial to approach the situation with a focus on verified facts and the legal process.
