SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Spurs are making headlines as they seek permission to expand their reach beyond the Frost Bank Center for a few select games. This request comes on the heels of their first NBA Finals appearance since 2014, a significant milestone that has reignited excitement and engagement among fans.
On Tuesday, Bexar County leaders will convene to discuss a proposed amendment to the existing non-relocation agreement, which currently restricts the Spurs to three away games. The new amendment could allow the team to play up to four regular-season games outside their primary venue over the next two seasons, potentially enhancing their national and international fan base.

The current agreement permits the Spurs to host two games within a 100-mile radius of their home arena and one international game. With their upcoming schedule, the Spurs are set to play two games against the New Orleans Pelicans in January, one in Paris and another in Manchester. Notably, only one of these games will officially count as a home game for the Spurs, highlighting the unique nature of international matchups.
In addition to their international games, the Spurs have plans for a trip to the Moody Center in Austin in 2027. Since 2023, the team has hosted two games annually at this venue, providing fans in Central Texas with the opportunity to experience live NBA action close to home.
As the discussion unfolds regarding the amendment to the non-relocation agreement, the Spurs organization remains committed to engaging with their community and expanding their brand. The potential for additional games away from the Frost Bank Center could pave the way for greater outreach and connection with fans across different regions.
