SAN ANTONIO – Whataburger, the beloved fast-casual burger chain headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, is embarking on an exciting journey of expansion and innovation. The company has announced plans to introduce two new restaurant prototypes as part of its growth strategy, aimed at enhancing the dining experience while honoring its rich heritage.

Set to debut by early 2027, the new designs, aptly named The Legacy and The Essential, are inspired by Whataburger’s 75-year history. These prototypes will feature architectural elements that pay homage to the brand’s iconic past, ensuring that fans of the chain can enjoy a familiar yet refreshed atmosphere.

Construction on these innovative restaurant designs is anticipated to commence later this year, with the initial rollout planned for locations across Texas. Following the Texas debut, Whataburger aims to expand into several other markets, including North Carolina, Florida, Arizona, South Carolina, and Georgia. Each new prototype is expected to take between 150 to 175 days to complete, allowing for a swift introduction of the revitalized dining experiences.

As Whataburger continues to evolve, the company remains committed to delivering high-quality food and a welcoming atmosphere that resonates with its loyal customers. This growth initiative not only reflects the brand’s dedication to its roots but also its ambition to adapt to contemporary dining preferences.
