SAN ANTONIO – A man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison on two felony charges in connection with a body found in an east Bexar County field in 2023, according to court records.
Christopher Michael Hottell, 37, received two 10-year sentences for both manslaughter and aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury charges, records show. Both sentences will be served concurrently.
Hottell’s sentencing follows the discovery of the body of 29-year-old Alysa Graves, which was made on July 23, 2023. A witness on an ATV stumbled upon her remains near the intersection of North Foster Road and Summer Fest Drive. This tragic incident has raised concerns about public safety and the circumstances leading to her death.
Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar addressed the media shortly after the discovery, revealing that Graves exhibited signs of trauma, specifically minor facial injuries. The investigation into her death revealed more disturbing details, as the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed that she died from closed-head injuries, prompting further inquiries into the events leading up to her demise.
As the community reflects on this harrowing case, it raises important discussions around violence and safety in the area. Local authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, aiming to prevent such tragedies in the future. In light of this incident, the Bexar County community continues to seek justice for Alysa Graves and support for her family during this difficult time.
