Man run over while sleeping in downtown San Antonio parking lot; Driver flees, SAPD says

SAN ANTONIO – In a disturbing incident early Saturday morning, a 26-year-old man was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle while he slept in a parking lot located in downtown San Antonio. The San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) reported that officers were dispatched to the scene around 2 a.m. in the 1000 block of East Houston Street.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the man was resting in the parking lot when an unknown vehicle drove over him. The driver, who has not yet been identified, fled the scene without offering assistance to the injured man.

After the collision, the victim managed to run to a nearby location where he called for emergency medical services. Paramedics arrived promptly and transported him to a local hospital. Fortunately, his injuries were reported as non-life-threatening, which is a relief given the circumstances.
