Her winning artwork will now grace the cover of both the Battle of Flowers Parade and Band Festival programs, marking a significant milestone in her artistic journey.
“I just wanted to create an art piece that incorporated San Antonio elements, Mexican elements, and Fiesta elements,” Solano shared, reflecting her passion for the rich cultural tapestry of her hometown.
Her composition features iconic local symbols, including “the Alamo, the Big Red boots, folklórico dancers, and mariachis,” showcasing the vibrant spirit of San Antonio and its famous Fiesta celebration.
The selection process was notably competitive, with the top 40 entries receiving special recognition for their artistic achievement. Other finalists were also acknowledged for their creativity and dedication to capturing the essence of the city.
