SAN ANTONIO – As of 11:20 a.m., the AMBER Alert issued for an 8-year-old girl last seen on the Northwest Side has been discontinued. The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed that Leanna Contreras has been found safe.
Initially, the alert was activated following the report of Leanna’s disappearance. She was last seen around 11:45 p.m. on August 8, in the 5600 block of Evers Road. The alert indicated that she was believed to be with Marco Lopez, a 30-year-old man sought by authorities for potential abduction.
Descriptions of the individuals involved were released to aid in locating them. Leanna Contreras is described as being 4 feet 9 inches tall, with brown eyes and brown hair. Marco Lopez, on the other hand, is approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, with similar brown eyes and hair.
Authorities also indicated that the two may have been traveling in a silver 2017 Ford Focus bearing a Texas license plate TTP1016. The community was urged to stay alert and report any sightings or information regarding their whereabouts.
