BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) is actively investigating a tragic incident that has been classified as an apparent murder-suicide in north Bexar County. This incident has raised concerns amid a troubling rise in domestic violence-related homicides in the area.
Deputies responded to a call around 2 a.m. on Sunday, arriving at the 6200 block of Carriage Cape. The distress call was made by a woman who reported that a man had shot her before turning the gun on himself. Upon arrival, deputies forced their way into the home and discovered both the man and woman inside.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries from a gunshot wound to her upper body. Unfortunately, she later succumbed to her injuries. As of now, the identities of the individuals involved have not been made public.
This incident marks the 19th homicide investigated by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office this year, with nine of those being related to domestic violence. In contrast, the agency recorded only 15 homicides in all of 2025, including seven that were associated with domestic violence. This upward trend in homicides, particularly those linked to family situations, has alarmed community leaders and law enforcement officials alike.
