SAN ANTONIO – In the early hours of Friday morning, a fire erupted at an apartment complex located in the 10100 block of Sahara Drive, near San Pedro Avenue, resulting in one hospitalization due to smoke inhalation, as reported by the San Antonio Fire Department (SAFD).

The blaze began around 3:40 a.m. and quickly spread, damaging at least four occupied apartment units. Fire officials indicated that the flames originated on the second floor before moving to the attic, causing significant damage, particularly to the second floor, while other levels also experienced effects from the fire.

Firefighters worked diligently to extinguish the fire, and while the main sections have been successfully controlled, teams remain on-site to address lingering hot spots. The extent of the damage has raised concerns about the safety and livability of the affected units.

Currently, it is uncertain how many residents have been displaced by the incident. Several individuals received treatment at the scene for smoke inhalation symptoms, underscoring the serious nature of the fire’s impact.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and authorities are working to gather more details. As the situation develops, updates from the SAFD will provide further insight into the incident and the response efforts.
