ATASCOSA COUNTY, Texas – In a bizarre turn of events, a woman allegedly stole an Amazon delivery truck in Bexar County and drove it to Atascosa County. This unusual incident was reported by the Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday via a social media news release.

According to the sheriff’s office, the identity of the woman remains unknown. She reportedly took the delivery truck while it was in San Antonio, loaded with packages destined for various customers.

Her journey ended abruptly in northern Atascosa County. Deputies, responding to reports of the stolen vehicle, discovered the Amazon truck stuck in deep sand with the woman inside. Interestingly, she had locked herself in and refused to exit the vehicle.

Eventually, deputies managed to arrest her and charged her with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, which is classified as a state jail felony. This means she could face some serious legal consequences.

In a light-hearted note, the Atascosa County Sheriff’s office humorously apologized to customers for any potential delivery delays, saying, “Apparently, ‘same-day delivery’ doesn’t include detours into the sand or an unexpected stop with the sheriff’s office.” This statement highlights the unusual nature of the situation, providing a touch of humor amidst the chaos.
