San Antonio police arrest 2 women accused of injuring, robbing Knicks fans after Finals win

SAN ANTONIO – Two women from San Antonio are facing serious charges after an incident involving New York Knicks fans following Game 5 of the NBA Finals. This shocking event has raised concerns about safety during large public gatherings.

Destiny Lezzet Converse, aged 28, was arrested on Monday and was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center the following day. According to police records, she is facing one count of aggravated robbery, which is classified as a first-degree felony, and one count of robbery, a second-degree felony.

Maria Victoria Gomez, 46, was taken into custody on Wednesday for the same charges and was booked into the Bexar County jail on Thursday. Both women have been accused of causing “serious bodily injury” to two individuals aged between 40 and 65, as stated in a social media post by the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD).

This incident highlights the importance of community safety, especially during high-profile events like the NBA Finals. The SAPD is urging anyone with additional information to come forward to help ensure that such acts of violence are addressed promptly.
