Man sentenced to 40 years for sexual abuse of children, DA’s office says

SAN ANTONIO – A man named Bryce Chatland has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for sexually abusing children, as reported by the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office. This sentencing took place on a Tuesday in the 226th District Court.

Chatland, who is 58 years old, pleaded guilty on July 8, 2026, to serious charges that included multiple counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child and possession of child pornography. These charges reflect the severity of his actions and their impact on young victims.

The investigation into Chatland began in June 2023, when the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office received reports from victims. These victims shared that Chatland had been abusing them for over seven years. The case took a disturbing turn when investigators discovered that he had recorded videos of the victims using hidden cameras, further intensifying the seriousness of his crimes.
