SAN ANTONIO – On Monday morning, a man found himself in a precarious situation when his vehicle got stuck on train tracks in San Antonio. The incident led to his arrest on suspicion of driving while intoxicated (DWI).
Just before 4 a.m., first responders from the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) and the San Antonio Fire Department rushed to the scene near Fratt Road and Interchange Parkway. Upon arrival, they learned that the man had been trying to drive over train tracks located behind the San Antonio Men’s Club when his car became immobilized.
As fate would have it, a train was approaching fast. According to police reports, the man noticed the train coming and fled the scene just moments before it collided with his vehicle.
After a brief period, the man returned to the location, where officers apprehended him. He was subsequently charged with suspicion of DWI. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the accident.
This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers associated with driving under the influence. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), alcohol impairs judgment, coordination, and reaction times, making it unsafe to operate a vehicle.
If you or someone you know is struggling with alcohol use, consider reaching out for help. Resources like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and local support groups can provide guidance and support.
