SAN ANTONIO – A dramatic scene unfolded early Saturday morning when a driver led Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers on a high-speed chase that ended at the San Antonio International Airport. The incident began around 1:30 a.m. near Loop 410 and Babcock Road, where a trooper attempted to pull over a 2012 Chrysler.

Instead of stopping, the driver, later identified as 25-year-old Brandon Christopher Figueroa, decided to evade the traffic stop. The chase took him through various parts of the city, creating a tense situation for both law enforcement and the public.

Eventually, Figueroa crashed through a gate located off Jones Maltsberger Road, making his way onto the airport runway. The impact disabled his vehicle, bringing the chase to an end.

After the crash, authorities arrested Figueroa on charges of evading arrest in a motor vehicle and unlawfully carrying a weapon. During the investigation, troopers discovered a firearm inside the vehicle, adding to the seriousness of the situation.

The DPS is continuing to investigate the incident, working to gather all necessary details and ensure public safety. This event serves as a reminder of the risks involved in police chases and the potential dangers they pose to both law enforcement officers and civilians alike.
