BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – A serious incident occurred recently on the Northeast Side of Bexar County, where a shooting left one man critically injured and four juveniles detained. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) responded to the scene at about 8 p.m. on Glen Briar Drive, near Gibbs Sprawl Road.
According to BCSO reports, a 40-year-old man was shot twice in the chest during this alarming event. In a surprising twist, one of the juveniles involved also sustained a gunshot wound and was taken to a local hospital. BCSO officials believe that the man may have acted in self-defense when he shot the juvenile.
The situation raises serious questions about youth violence, as the detained juveniles could face charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which is categorized as a first-degree felony. Witnesses reported hearing approximately three to four gunshots during the incident. BCSO also mentioned that several firearms were recovered from the home where the shooting took place.
