A situation arose at Metzger Middle School during a scheduled lockdown drill on Wednesday morning, which was described as a “student-related incident.” According to Lexie Greathouse, Judson ISD’s Director of Communications, this incident prompted school administrators to implement a hold on the campus.
During the response to this situation, a weapon was discovered and promptly confiscated. Greathouse made it clear that “the situation was quickly contained,” ensuring the safety of the students and staff. She also mentioned that appropriate disciplinary actions are being taken, and the matter has been referred to law enforcement for further investigation.
In an effort to keep parents informed, the district has reached out to all Metzger MS parents. Greathouse advised that any parents with additional concerns should contact the campus administration for specific questions regarding their children.
