SAN ANTONIO – A serious incident occurred on Monday night involving a bicyclist who was shot on the South Side of San Antonio, according to local police reports.

Around 11:40 p.m., officers were called to the 11700 block of Faldo Way, near the Mission Del Lago Golf Course, after the victim, a 46-year-old man, alerted authorities.

Initially, the bicyclist claimed he accidentally shot himself while riding. However, when officers arrived, they found no firearm on him, raising suspicions about his account.

Further investigation revealed surveillance footage showing an unknown man approaching the bicyclist and shooting him in the chest before returning to a nearby home.

Authorities executed an arrest warrant at the suspect’s residence but have yet to locate the individual responsible for the shooting.

The injured bicyclist was taken to a local hospital, where he is currently in critical condition. The police are continuing their investigation to gather more information and apprehend the shooter.

This incident highlights the ongoing concerns regarding safety in public spaces, and the San Antonio Police Department urges anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
