SAN MARCOS, Texas – In a troubling incident, a man was arrested and charged with murder following the death of a 61-year-old woman on Monday evening in San Marcos. According to a spokesperson from the San Marcos police department, officers responded to a medical assistance call around 5:40 p.m. at a residence located in the 600 block of CM Allen Parkway, not far from Interstate 35 North.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the woman deceased inside the home, showing signs of trauma. This prompted an immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Police were able to locate Robert Ray Garcia, 37, at a different residence in San Marcos. Initially, he was detained for questioning, and after further investigation, he was arrested and charged with murder the following day.
Garcia has also been booked into the Hays County Jail on an additional charge of criminal trespassing. Notably, it has been reported that Garcia is related to the deceased woman, adding a layer of complexity to the case.
