SAN ANTONIO – Four suspects were taken into custody Monday in connection with a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle on the Northwest Side, according to San Antonio police.
An SAPD officer noticed a vehicle traveling at a high speed around 11 a.m. in the 6100 block of Northwest Loop 410, located near Warpath Drive. The officer initiated a traffic stop, but the vehicle attempted to evade capture by driving through a median and onto the access road, even jumping a curb in the process.
As the suspects tried to flee, their vehicle sustained two flat tires, further complicating their escape. The San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) later confirmed that the vehicle involved in the pursuit was stolen.
The four suspects eventually abandoned the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot. However, law enforcement was able to apprehend them at different locations shortly thereafter.
One of the suspects was identified as Joaquin Angel Alviso Delgado, 18, who has been charged with evading arrest detention, a Class A misdemeanor. According to jail records, Delgado was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
The identities of the other three suspects, aged between 13 and 14 years old, have not been disclosed as they are minors.
This incident highlights ongoing issues with vehicle theft and the challenges law enforcement faces in apprehending suspects involved in such crimes. SAPD continues to urge the community to report any suspicious activities and to secure their vehicles to prevent theft.
