SAN ANTONIO – Two men were arrested on Monday after a dramatic police chase on the Southwest Side of San Antonio, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
The incident began around 10:10 a.m. when a DPS trooper attempted to pull over a Honda passenger vehicle for a traffic violation on Kyle Street. Instead of stopping, the driver, identified as Soriano, decided to flee the scene.
This led to a pursuit that ended on Mallard Street, where both Soriano and a passenger, Mariano, abandoned the car and ran into a nearby residential area. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during this chaotic episode.
After a brief foot chase, DPS troopers managed to capture Soriano. The department utilized its Aircraft Operations to locate Mariano, who was also arrested shortly thereafter.
Soriano faces multiple charges, including evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle and evading arrest or detention on foot. Mariano has been charged with evading arrest or detention on foot as well.
While the situation escalated quickly, it serves as a reminder of the importance of complying with law enforcement. The incident highlights the risks involved in fleeing from police, not only for the suspects but also for the community around them.
