SAN ANTONIO, Texas – A heartbreaking story has emerged from southeast Bexar County, where a woman is pleading for justice following the tragic death of her husband, Edward Finex. He was struck by a vehicle and left to die on the side of the road, and now his grieving wife is calling on the driver to come forward.
“Repent. If it was a mistake, it was a mistake. But give the family answers. He’s got kids,” said Sherry Finex, Edward’s wife. Her emotional plea highlights the desperation and pain of a family seeking closure.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Edward Finex, 37, was the man found deceased alongside Hildebrandt Road, not far from South WW White Road. His body was discovered by a crew cutting grass in the area on Wednesday morning, and he had been reported missing prior to that.
According to a post from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, Edward was last seen walking away from Mission Trail Baptist Hospital on Sunday.
Tragically, Sherry received a devastating diagnosis on the same day she learned about her husband’s death. She is now in hospice care with only months to live due to severe lung failure. The loss of her husband, who was a father to their four children, adds to her unbearable pain.
“I’m still sitting here dreaming that he’s going to walk through the door and he’s going to come in,” Sherry shared, her words filled with sorrow and longing.
In the meantime, investigators are on the hunt for the driver responsible for the hit-and-run. They have released information about the vehicle involved, describing it as a mid-2000s model Ford F-150 pickup, likely with front-end damage and a missing headlight on the passenger’s side.
“I know one day before I stop breathing, whoever did this to my husband, you will pay in full and you need to come forward,” Sherry said, making a direct appeal to the driver.
