It’s a hot afternoon, but the weather is starting to change! A few storms have begun to develop in the Hill Country and are gradually moving south. For most of the San Antonio area, there’s about a 40% chance of rain. This might just be the relief we need from the heat. Expect the storms to subside after sunset.

LOW SEVERE RISK
While the risk of severe storms is low, we cannot completely rule out a strong storm or two. The biggest concern would be strong, gusty winds from any dying thunderstorm. Additionally, lightning could pose a risk, especially affecting high school football games and outdoor activities later in the afternoon and evening.
LUNAR ECLIPSE
Tonight, a partial lunar eclipse is set to occur. Although cloud cover may be intermittent, you should be able to catch a glimpse of the eclipse at times. The moon is expected to take on a reddish glow, which can be seen with the naked eye. The peak viewing time for this event will be around 11:12 PM.
EXTENDED FORECAST
Tomorrow, we can expect more spotty storms between 3 PM and 8 PM, with a coverage chance of about 30%. It’ll be hot and quiet over the weekend, and isolated showers are possible on Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures will remain high, hovering just at or below 100°.
