Jaquelin Flores was taken into custody on Wednesday and later released from Bexar County jail after posting a $100,000 bond the same day, according to jail records.

The incident occurred on August 3, around 11 a.m., when San Antonio police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Hardy Oak Boulevard and Sable Canyon.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found two drivers who had been injured in a T-bone collision involving two SUVs.

Jaquelin Flores, one of the drivers, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The other driver, 64-year-old Valerie Keeney, unfortunately, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the San Antonio police report.

Investigations revealed that Keeney was attempting to turn left onto Hardy Oak Boulevard southbound when she was struck by Flores, who was traveling northbound on the same street.

The impact of the collision caused Keeney to be trapped inside her vehicle, and despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Further investigations, including witness testimonies, indicated that Flores was driving without a valid driver’s license at the time of the crash and was allegedly traveling at a speed double the posted limit.

Data retrieved from Flores’ airbag control module showed that she was driving at 87 mph just before the fatal collision, which significantly contributed to the severity of the accident.

Flores’ next court hearing is scheduled for November 10, as per the jail records.
