SAN FRANCISCO – In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, the San Francisco Giants secured a 3-0 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday night. Grant McCray contributed significantly to the win, hitting his first home run of the season during the fourth inning, while pitcher Tyler Mahle delivered a stellar performance on the mound.

The Giants opened the scoring in the third inning, with All-Star Luis Arraez knocking in rookie catcher Jesus Rodriguez from second base. This early momentum set the stage for McCray’s explosive home run, a deep 406-foot shot to left field that brought both himself and Willy Adames across the plate, extending the Giants’ lead to 3-0. Notably, this was McCray’s first home run since 2024, stepping up as a backup in right field due to the injury of starter Jung Hoo Lee.

Tyler Mahle (3-9) showcased his pitching prowess, dominating the Brewers lineup by holding them scoreless through six innings. He allowed only three hits, displaying both control and composure under pressure. In contrast, Brewers’ starting pitcher Brandon Sproat took the loss, giving up three runs and six hits over the same duration, bringing his season record to 3-6.

The Brewers struggled offensively, with Jake Bauers, the team’s home run leader, managing just one hit. Key players like William Contreras and Brice Turang were held hitless throughout the game, further hampering Milwaukee’s ability to compete.

Adding to the Giants’ challenges, third baseman Casey Schmitt exited the game in the second inning due to a leg injury sustained while rounding first base. This incident compounds the team’s injury woes, as they are already without Matt Chapman (abdominal strain) and Jung Hoo Lee (right elbow soreness).

Looking ahead, the Giants will face the Brewers again, with RHP Logan Henderson (4-1, 3.05 ERA) set to oppose Giants RHP Landen Roupp (7-8, 3.93 ERA) on Tuesday night at Oracle Park. Fans are eager to see if the Giants can maintain their momentum and secure another victory in this critical matchup.
