SAN ANTONIO – In a concerning incident that has left the community shaken, a 26-year-old man was shot multiple times while sitting in his vehicle on San Antonio’s North Side. This violent event occurred around 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday in the 1800 block of East Sonterra Boulevard, close to the U.S. Highway 281 access road.
According to reports from the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), an unidentified number of individuals drove up next to the victim’s car and fired at least 12 shots before fleeing the scene. The situation is being actively investigated, but as of now, no suspects have been identified or arrested.
The victim was struck at least five times, suffering injuries to his arm, abdomen, and chest. He was urgently transported to a local hospital where he is currently in serious condition but alive as of Friday evening.
Officer Emily Garvin from SAPD stated, “Right now, detectives are actively investigating to solve that case. It seems to be isolated.” She urged the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, saying, “If you see something, definitely say something.”
As the investigation unfolds, police have not determined how many individuals were involved in the shooting. Officer Garvin mentioned, “We don’t have a specific type of vehicle or a certain color of the vehicle,” indicating that details about the assailants remain scarce.
