DALLAS – There’s some serious drama unfolding in the world of hip-hop, especially surrounding rapper Pooh Shiesty. Prosecutors have revealed that a video shows him allegedly forcing his way to get released from Gucci Mane’s record label while an armed associate blocks a door during a reported robbery at a Texas music studio back in January.

This shocking video has become a key piece of evidence in a federal court case in Dallas, where Pooh Shiesty, whose real name is Lontrell Williams Jr., and eight others face serious charges including kidnapping and extortion. The incident allegedly occurred when some victims traveled to Dallas to talk about a recording contract with Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records, but things took a dangerous turn.

In court documents, the victims are only identified by their initials for privacy reasons. One of them, referred to as R.D., is noted to be the owner of 1017 Records. Interestingly, Gucci Mane’s real name is Radric Delantic Davis, and his recent song “Crash Dummy” includes the line: “I thought it was a business meeting, but it was a set up,” hinting at the situation.

Prosecutors have responded to a motion filed by Pooh Shiesty last month, in which he requested to be placed under home confinement instead of remaining in custody until his trial. His argument was that the evidence against him didn’t warrant such strict measures. However, prosecutors believe otherwise, claiming the evidence is “extraordinarily strong.”

According to the prosecution, all five victims and witnesses are cooperating, and they possess cellphone location data that strengthens their case. They also have surveillance footage showing the defendants at the crime scene, along with the video of the label owner being coerced into declaring that Pooh Shiesty was “dropped” from his label.

The evidence suggests that just before the video was filmed, Pooh Shiesty presented a printed release contract for the owner to sign. Initially, the owner refused, but after Pooh allegedly pointed an AK-style pistol at him, he agreed to sign it.

Furthermore, prosecutors claim that another defendant, known as BIG30 (real name Rodney Wright), filmed the confrontation with his cellphone while another accomplice stood guard at the door with a firearm that appeared to be an AK-47 style rifle.

As for the robbery itself, Pooh Shiesty is accused of stealing around $450,000 worth of items from the label owner, which included his wedding band, a watch, earrings, and cash. Notably, at the time of this alleged robbery, Pooh Shiesty was already on home confinement due to a previous firearms conspiracy conviction from Florida, and he was required to wear an electronic monitor.

As of now, attorneys representing Pooh Shiesty and BIG30 have not provided any comments regarding the ongoing legal situation. This case continues to develop, and it’s one that hip-hop fans will want to keep an eye on.

Gucci Mane, who is a significant figure in the trap music scene, made his mark in the mid-2000s with hits like “Icy” and has since built an impressive catalog, establishing himself as a cornerstone of the genre.
