SAN ANTONIO – Employees at a Northwest Side tattoo shop are in recovery mode after a break-in occurred early Wednesday morning.

CFS Tattoo Company, located on Huebner Road, reported the burglary around 7 a.m., prompting a response from the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD). Upon arrival, officers found significant damage to the front door, indicating a forced entry.

“Pretty much every single station in here was destroyed,” tattoo artist Alyssa Logsdon explained. “Except for the things that were too high to reach.”

Logsdon estimated the damage to be over $70,000, citing the loss of machines, personal belongings, books, and vital equipment like an autoclave and printers. “It’s a huge setback for us,” she said, reflecting on the extensive destruction.

The incident may have been fueled by ongoing issues with a former employee. Logsdon mentioned that they decided to let her go recently, but she had been hanging around the shopping area and causing disturbances, including leaving trash in front of the shop.

Despite the chaos, the team at CFS Tattoo Company is dedicated to reopening their doors as soon as possible. Some of their tattoo equipment remains functional, but the process of rebuilding will take considerable time.

“We need this to survive, so we’re going to do everything we can to start going again,” Logsdon affirmed, demonstrating the resilience and determination of the tattoo artists.

As of now, SAPD has not made any arrests in connection with the break-in, leaving the community unsettled but hopeful for a swift resolution.
