SAN ANTONIO – In a troubling incident on Thursday afternoon, a man was shot on the West Side of San Antonio, according to the local police department.

According to a sergeant from the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) who was present at the scene, the victim, a man in his 40s, was visiting a family member when he was approached by two males who opened fire.
In a brave move, the victim managed to drive himself to a nearby church located off Potranco Road. This quick thinking likely saved his life.
Upon arriving at the church, first responders quickly attended to him. It was reported that he sustained two gunshot wounds: one grazed his head and another hit his left knee. Fortunately, the injuries were not life-threatening, but they required immediate medical attention.
