In a recent incident that has raised eyebrows in the community, BreAnn Halcumb, a 34-year-old woman, was arrested in Panola County. She faces a felony warrant from Bexar County, according to local records.

The situation came to light when staff at Randolph High School reported concerns to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. They noticed Halcumb and a student spending excessive time together, describing their proximity as “hip to hip.”

An investigation revealed that there were over 160 messages exchanged between Halcumb and the student between February and April. School officials characterized these messages as “teenage flirting,” but they also indicated that the interactions violated school policy.

One concerning incident involved Halcumb giving the teenage girl a ride home following a school sporting event. Reports indicate that the two ended up at a park, where they engaged in kissing and fondling.

In a separate occurrence, Halcumb visited the girl’s home for a nail appointment. During this visit, the teenager informed her father that more kissing and fondling had taken place.

Records also suggest that Halcumb advised the teenage girl to keep their relationship a secret from others.

When questioned, the teenage girl claimed that she was 18 and still enrolled as a student at the time of these incidents. This detail is crucial in understanding the legal implications of the situation.

The girl’s parents took action in May by reaching out to Halcumb directly. Halcumb allegedly acknowledged that the physical contact was inappropriate but shifted the blame onto the teenager, claiming that the girl had initiated the advances.

As of now, Halcumb has been released from custody, as per records from the Panola County jail. This case highlights serious concerns about appropriate boundaries in teacher-student relationships and the importance of maintaining professionalism in educational settings.
