A serious issue has emerged involving a former employee of the Laurel Ridge Treatment Center. Felicia Armstrong, who worked as an Admission and Mental Health Technician, has filed a lawsuit claiming sexual harassment against the facility and its ex-CEO, Jacob Cuellar.

According to the lawsuit, on May 1, 2024, during a mandatory training session, Cuellar allegedly grouped Armstrong in a manner she describes as harassment. This incident, she argues, violates Texas law regarding sexual harassment.

Armstrong took action by reporting the incident to a nursing supervisor and the UHS Compliance Hotline. Unfortunately, she claims that her complaints did not lead to any substantial action being taken to address her concerns.

Following her report, Armstrong alleges that Cuellar retaliated against her. She states that he demoted her, placed her “under doctors’ orders,” and restricted her chances for future promotions. Eventually, Armstrong was terminated from her position.

The impact of this situation has been significant for Armstrong. She claims to have undergone extensive medical treatment and psychological counseling due to the hostile work environment she faced at Laurel Ridge.

In her lawsuit, Armstrong is seeking compensation for various damages. This includes mental anguish, lost wages, and future earnings, as well as attorney’s fees and any other relief the court deems appropriate.
