SAN ANTONIO – Recently, an alarming incident occurred at an H-E-B parking lot in San Antonio, where two individuals attempted to steal a pickup truck and threatened its owner with a firearm.
The event unfolded just after 7:45 p.m. on a Wednesday evening. According to the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), the victim discovered one of the suspects inside his gray Ford F-250 as he was returning from the store located in the 3300 block of Southeast Military Drive.
Startled by the unexpected encounter, the victim yelled, causing the suspect to flee the scene in a gray Dodge Charger, accompanied by a second suspect.
After the suspects sped away, the victim found a black Apple iPhone left behind in his truck. He picked it up and moved away from his vehicle.
In a shocking turn of events, the two suspects returned to the parking lot. One of them re-entered the victim’s truck, seemingly searching for the phone.
During this time, the second suspect brandished a firearm and chased the victim, while the first suspect stood guard by their getaway vehicle, also armed.
Before leaving, the suspects made a chilling threat, warning the victim that they knew where he lived and would come to his home to harm him if he reported the incident. They then fled the scene in their car.
A witness corroborated the victim’s story, stating that he saw one suspect chase the victim while the other stood nearby with a gun. The witness also mentioned that his dashboard camera may have captured footage of the entire confrontation.
While the victim’s truck sustained some damage, the extent of it was not immediately clear, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The gray Dodge Charger used by the suspects is notable for its partially broken driver-side mirror and has been linked to at least two previous vehicle thefts in San Antonio.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is still ongoing as the police work to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in this troubling incident.
