SAN ANTONIO – A gas station employee on the South Side found himself in a dangerous situation early Thursday morning when he stabbed a 17-year-old boy during a dispute over beer, as reported by the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD).

The incident took place shortly after 5:35 a.m. at the Circle K located on Southwest Military Drive and Commercial Avenue. According to police, the teenager entered the store with another male and attempted to steal a beer.

When the employee informed the teenager that he could not buy alcohol, the teen reportedly responded aggressively, saying, “I’m going to take it regardless.” This confrontation escalated quickly into a physical fight.

During the altercation, the employee pulled out a knife, which he claimed was in self-defense, and stabbed the teenager in the lower stomach. Thankfully, the boy’s injuries were treated on the scene and were not life-threatening.

SAPD stated that the employee is not expected to face charges, as the situation appears to have been a case of self-defense. Authorities are currently reviewing the store’s surveillance footage to gather more information about the incident.

This situation raises important conversations about safety, conflict resolution, and the consequences of theft. If you or someone you know is struggling with issues related to theft or substance abuse, it is crucial to seek help from trusted adults or professionals.

This is a developing story. Stay tuned for more updates as this situation unfolds.
