SAN ANTONIO – A tragic incident occurred last week in San Antonio, where a 40-year-old woman named Sally Vasquez lost her life in a drive-by shooting. This heartbreaking event took place on April 3 in the 900 block of Burton Avenue, an area located near Aaron Place.
According to the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), the shooting involved at least one individual in a white vehicle, which police believe may have been a Toyota Prius. This person opened fire, hitting the corner house on Burton Avenue.
Tragically, one of the bullets penetrated the walls of the house and struck Vasquez in the head. Reports indicate that there were numerous bullet holes found in her room, highlighting the intensity of the shooting.
A male witness, who shared the room with Vasquez, revealed to officers that prior to the shooting, two other residents of the home had an argument with an unknown person outside. This detail could be crucial as the investigation unfolds.
At the scene, police discovered several shell casings, and witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots. Unfortunately, Vasquez was pronounced dead at the scene, with the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office ruling her death a homicide.
After the shooting, the white vehicle fled the scene, leaving investigators searching for answers. The SAPD has stated that their investigation is ongoing, as they work to uncover the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
