SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio man, Mirko Peter Kerkez, aged 32, was arrested this week for having material that depicts child sexual abuse. This is a serious accusation, especially given that he had previously faced charges related to online solicitation of a minor.
According to records from the Bexar County jail, Kerkez was taken into custody on Wednesday. The arrest warrant details that in November 2024, he allegedly uploaded 37 images of child sexual abuse material to a social media platform.
Among these files, investigators found a troubling 19-second video that showed a child being sexually abused. This is not just a legal issue; it raises profound concerns about the safety and well-being of children.
In November 2025, an officer with the Texas Attorney General’s Office obtained search warrants for three accounts believed to be associated with Kerkez on the same social platform. The investigation revealed nearly 46 items that matched the criteria for child pornography linked to one of his accounts.
The affidavit indicates that Kerkez had conversations discussing his “fantasy” of engaging in sexual acts with girls as young as 7 years old, which is deeply concerning. He reportedly shared photos of himself with identifiable tattoos, which helped investigators connect him to these accounts.
Additionally, court records show that Kerkez is awaiting trial for an online solicitation of a minor charge, which is classified as a third-degree felony. In this earlier incident, he is accused of discussing sexual acts and sharing at least one photo with an undercover investigator posing as a 15-year-old girl.
In March, investigators visited Kerkez’s home on the Northeast Side of San Antonio. A woman at the residence informed authorities that he was working as a construction worker, specifically remodeling a bathroom at a local school.
As of Thursday evening, Kerkez remains in custody at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center. This case highlights the importance of vigilance in protecting children from exploitation and the serious consequences that come with such offenses.
