FORECAST HIGHLIGHTS

FORECAST

This Sunday is going to feel more like summer than spring! With plenty of sunshine, temperatures are expected to soar into the low 90s. Some areas near the Rio Grande could even hit 100 degrees. Although it will be hot, the humidity will remain low, meaning it won’t feel too sticky—just really dry and warm.

FIRE WEATHER

The combination of scorching temperatures, very low humidity, and dry ground is raising alarms for potential fire dangers, particularly in the Hill Country. Humidity levels are expected to dip below 30%, and with breezy south winds, any fire that ignites could spread quickly. So, if you’re thinking about outdoor burning, it’s a good idea to hold off.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK

The heat isn’t going anywhere after Sunday. A weak cold front will remain to the north, providing little relief from the warm weather. On Monday, expect a slight cool down, but temperatures will still be above average, with highs reaching the upper 80s to low 90s. Warm and dry conditions will persist throughout much of the week, with rain chances remaining low as we head into early April.

Remaining much warmer than average
