SAN ANTONIO – Authorities have confirmed that a woman was taken into custody following a police chase that unfolded on Tuesday afternoon in San Antonio. The incident was reported by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), shedding light on the events that led to her apprehension.
At approximately 1:40 p.m., a DPS trooper attempted to pull over a 2008 Black Ford Edge for a traffic violation on Vermont Street, located on the Southwest Side of the city. The driver, a 35-year-old woman, allegedly failed to comply with the traffic stop and instead chose to evade law enforcement.
The pursuit escalated until troopers successfully “disabled” the woman’s vehicle near the intersection of U.S. Highway 281 and Jones Maltsberger Road. This strategic maneuver by law enforcement ultimately halted the chase, ensuring public safety and minimizing potential dangers on the road.
Following her arrest, the woman was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation, a standard procedure in such cases to ensure the well-being of the individual involved. She is expected to face charges related to evading arrest or detention in a motor vehicle, a serious offense under Texas law.
As the investigation continues, additional information regarding the woman’s background and circumstances leading to the chase has not been disclosed. Authorities remain committed to uncovering the details surrounding this incident, emphasizing their dedication to maintaining public safety and upholding the law.
