SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Police Department is reaching out to the community for assistance in identifying a person of interest linked to a series of incidents on the South Side of the city.
Recently, police shared a video on social media that shows an encounter with the individual they are trying to identify. According to the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), officers first attempted to approach a suspicious man on Sunday, October 4, near the intersection of West Hutchins Place and Commercial Avenue. Instead of cooperating, the man fled the scene, making him a person of interest in ongoing investigations.
In the released video, you can hear an officer instructing the man to come out with his hands raised. The man is seen wearing a gray hoodie and emerging from a bushy area.
Residents in the area noticed a heightened police presence during this incident. One local named Juarez mentioned, “There were a lot of cops out here, and they blocked off the street so no cars could come through.” He described the scene as unusual for the neighborhood, noting the officers were using flashlights and searching around homes and yards.
Juarez added, “They were trying to look for something. There was a group of them, and they went into this big yard across the street.” Another resident echoed his observations, recalling the numerous police vehicles in the vicinity.
This level of police activity was not something Juarez typically sees in his neighborhood, which added to the concern among residents.
If you recognize the person in the video or have any information that might help the investigators, the San Antonio Police Department encourages you to reach out at 210-207-0300. Your tips could be crucial in solving this case.
