EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – The Air Force Medical Examiner has confirmed the tragic death of a 26-year-old Senior Airman from Boerne, Tamera Moniq Bolden-Cleckley, who was found in a burned vehicle near the base where she was stationed. This discovery occurred on Wednesday morning and has raised significant concern within the military community.

Senior Airman Bolden-Cleckley served as a diagnostic imaging specialist, commonly referred to as a radio technician, in the surgical squadron at Eglin Air Force Base, located near Destin, Florida. She began her service in 2021, contributing her skills to the operations of the 96th Test Wing.

The burned vehicle was discovered by an Eglin Air Force Base employee on a test and training complex. Following the report, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, along with the 96th Security Forces Squadron, promptly responded to the scene. Although the vehicle was found off the main base, it was situated on land owned by the Department of the Air Force, leading to the investigation being taken over by the Air Force Office of Special Investigations.

In a statement, Col. Chris Keithley, commander of the 96th Test Wing, expressed deep condolences: “Senior Airman Bolden-Cleckley was a valued member of the 96th Test Wing team, and we extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and fellow Airmen during this difficult time. We remain committed to supporting those affected by this loss and encourage anyone who needs assistance to reach out to any of our helping agencies.”

In response to this tragic event, the Air Force and local agencies are mobilizing resources to provide counseling and support to those impacted. Assistance is available through the Air Force Casualty Assistance Office, the Air Force Employee Assistance Program, and the Chaplain’s Office, ensuring that service members and their families receive the help they need.

As the investigation progresses, the military community and the public await further updates regarding the circumstances surrounding this incident. The loss of a service member resonates deeply within the ranks, and the Air Force remains dedicated to honoring her memory while providing ongoing support to those grieving this profound loss.

The investigation remains ongoing.
