SAN ANTONIO – A fire incident on the Northwest Side of San Antonio has led to one person being hospitalized with burns, while a firefighter sustained minor injuries, as reported by the San Antonio Fire Department (SAFD).
The fire broke out just before 10:30 a.m. on Saturday in the 8700 block of Cinnamon Creek. The blaze originated on the first floor of a three-story apartment building. Fortunately, the main body of the fire was quickly extinguished, and damage was confined to a single unit, according to the fire department’s assessment.
The resident affected by the fire was found at a location away from the burning building and was promptly transported to a hospital for treatment of burn injuries. Additionally, a few other residents reported minor injuries and were being evaluated on the scene by first responders.
According to SAFD, the fire resulted in the displacement of up to 12 units, impacting multiple families in the apartment complex. Tragically, the fire also claimed the life of a dog, highlighting the unfortunate consequences of the incident.
As of now, further details regarding the cause of the fire and the extent of the damages have not been disclosed by the authorities. The community is encouraged to stay vigilant and prepared, especially as fire safety becomes a critical concern during warmer months.
