GULF SYSTEM
A small weather system is currently forming in the Gulf of Mexico, just south of New Orleans. It has the potential to briefly develop into a tropical depression or a weak tropical storm. However, its impact will be quite localized. Weather models are showing consistency in predicting that this system will make landfall east of Houston, near Beaumont, on Tuesday. While it may bring a narrow band of rainfall, significant precipitation is expected to remain far to the east of San Antonio, where residents might not see any rain at all. Coastal areas could experience a stray shower, but overall, the forecast remains mild.

HOT & DRY
This week is expected to be relatively quiet with steady temperatures hovering in the upper 90s to near 100°F. Although humidity is predicted to decrease during the afternoons, which means the heat index won’t be as extreme, it’s important to note that these temperatures will still be above average for this time of year.

ANY RELIEF?
Unfortunately, there won’t be any relief from the heat in the short term. However, forecasts indicate that the persistent heat high, which has been affecting us throughout August, may begin to shift away by mid-September. So, keep an eye on the weather as we transition into the fall!
