SAN ANTONIO – A new mural inside Boomtown Sports Cards and Collectibles is giving Spurs fans another way to celebrate the franchise’s legacy — and its future.
San Antonio mural artist J.C. Gómez-Molina brought the piece to life, which brings together multiple eras of Spurs basketball.
The mural features franchise legends Tim Duncan and David Robinson alongside current Spurs players Stephon Castle, Victor Wembanyama, Dylan Harper, Devin Vassell, and Julian Champagnie, highlighting the transition from past to present.
A notable element of the artwork depicts the moment featured on the cover of NBA 2K27, showcasing Wembanyama as he helps clinch a playoff spot for San Antonio, symbolizing the end of a long postseason drought for the franchise.
Gómez-Molina expressed his excitement about the project, emphasizing the significance of honoring both the Spurs’ championship history and their promising young core. “It’s amazing for me. I’m a huge fan — I’ve always been,” he remarked, reflecting on the team’s recent struggles and newfound hope.
With a hint of humor, Gómez-Molina added, “A lot of years — as you can tell, I’m old. A lot of experience, picking up things from other artists and helping each other out.” His journey as an artist has contributed to the depth and vibrancy of the mural.
The mural is now on display inside Boomtown Sports Cards and Collectibles, inviting Spurs fans to stop by and witness this tribute in person.
