SAN ANTONIO – A man was detained after allegedly stabbing another man who intervened in a fight on the South Side, according to authorities from the San Antonio Police Department. The incident unfolded late Saturday night in the 6100 block of Padre Drive, shortly before midnight.

Police reports indicate that a 28-year-old man was asked to leave a gathering after a verbal dispute escalated. As tensions flared, the man engaged in a physical altercation with multiple individuals present. It was during this chaos that a 33-year-old victim stepped in to separate the fighters.

Unfortunately, the victim was stabbed in the torso while attempting to intervene. Emergency responders quickly transported him to a local hospital for medical treatment. The severity of his injuries has not been disclosed, but police are actively gathering further details about his condition.

The suspect was detained at the scene and subsequently booked on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. This serious charge reflects the potential legal ramifications faced by individuals involved in violent altercations.

The San Antonio Police Department has stated that the investigation into the incident is ongoing, with detectives working to piece together the events leading up to the stabbing. Authorities encourage anyone with additional information to come forward.

This incident highlights the importance of conflict resolution and the dangers that can arise when disputes escalate. The community is reminded to seek peaceful solutions and to contact law enforcement if they witness violence.
